Abstract:
Electron cooling creates a correlation between longitudinal and transverse tails in antiproton distribution. Introducing mini-barriers inside the regular Recycler bucket results in a partial separation of the core and tail particles in the longitudinal direction. A transverse stochastic cooling gated on the hot area with a low particle density cools antiprotons until they are dragged into the core by electron cooling.
