Abstract:
Effect on the particle dynamics was studied of Space Charge Compensation with multiple "electron columns" which can be created e.g. by fast gas jet ionization. It was shown that with an "e-column" in each Booster period it would be possible to significantly reduce initial transverse emittance blowup and achieve higher intensities.
