Abstract:
We describe and analyze a beam-based technique for precisely
measuring the absolute phase jitter between the electromagnetic field established in an accelerating module and a relativistic electron bunch being accelerated by this module. The performance of the proposed beam-based method is numerically explored using, as an example, the International Linear Collider (ILC) test accelerator currently in construction at Fermilab.
