I will discuss the measurement and correction of beta function irregularities caused by improper alignment of the Booster’s gradient magnets. I have made preliminary measurements of the beta function in each drift section by introducing a quadrupole error and measuring the resulting tune shifts. I have measured the transverse coupling in the Booster, which must be taken into account when calculating the expected relationships between the quadrupole error, the x and y tune shifts, and the x and y beta functions. I will discuss initial attempts to correct the beta functions using the 48 ramped corrector magnets and future plans to improve the measurement and correction process.
