Abstract:
Slow Spill from the Main Ring was controlled using QXR, an iron-core quadrupole, and the Bucker. In 1977, the Bucker was upgraded to employ three air core quadrupoles with ceramic beam pipes. Input to the control electronics included a Bdot signal from the main quadrupole bus, an Rpos signal to reflect dipole bus modulation and a learned signal from the spill. Notes on this system are included here.
