Abstract:
One can quantify the effect of beam - beam effect in the TeV at 150 GeV in the following way: We compute the combined transfer efficiency for pbars going from the Main Injector to the TeV, up to the state just be fore ramp. This efficiency is correlated to the total proton current in the machine.
This is all true when the TeV is either misaligned or has a tight physical aperture. Recent data shows that pbar lifetime are long, e.g. beam-beam effects no longer limit the lifetime at 150.
