Abstract:
A collection of formulae and concepts relevant in doing Tevatron
orbit analysis and beam smoothing is presented. These are from the
viewpoint of a relative newcomer to Tevatron beams physics; there is
no claim that useful results are derived here for the first time.

A rather long section on the results of trying to use the DFG's to
shift the entire orbit (or large fractions it) by a fixed small amount.

{\em This document is likely to evolve a bit further as additional useful
information is derived in the course of developing cusp-finding software.}
