Notes from Main Injector/Recycler Group Meeting Wednesday, 18 December 2002 BCBrown Dan Broemmelsiek -- Recycler Studies. The meeting opened with a presentation by Dan Broemmelsiek on Recycler Ring Studies and Study Plans. See the document: http://www-ap.fnal.gov/~bcbrown/MtgNotes/DB_MI%20Dept%20Meeting_12-18.ppt or, in the new Beams Document Database http://beamdocs.fnal.gov/DocDB/0002/000283/005/DB_RR_Studies_12-9_to_12-16.htm Discussion and Status We briefly discussed pbar acceleration in MI. It is recognized that the 2.5 MHz Recycler system is not currently producing clean bunches for transfer to and acceleration in the Main Injector. The dipole corrector control for the Recycler Ring is now involved in resolving several separate problems. In addition to local orbit correction, we have used the horizontal correctors for correcting the average momentum at the desired orbit. This was implemented using a constant value the h(i) tables in the 453 cards. This week that functionality was transferred to the g(i) tables in order to use the ramp dependent features of the h(i) tables for compensation of the orbit effects due to MI ramping. The efforts to correct RR orbit effects from MI ramping were ongoing during the early part of the meeting. Stan Pruss joined us to report that progress was being made and a program error was being corrected while the meeting went on. Progress continued after the meeting but corrections for MI ramping were not achieved on this day.
