"Employee Reward and Recognition"'s (little cash prizes) are given to Eliana Wendt (for Tev decoupling application), Seva Kamerdzhiev (for TEL-2 commissioning), Jean-Paul Carneiro (for simulations of beam dynamics in 8GeV SC Linac) and Sasha Drozhdin (design of MI Collimation System) - Congratulations! 2. Dept news: a) new DoE travel rules call for requests to be sent 90 days prior to any (incl domestic) Conference, etc; b) safety first! - remember x3131; c) recent Run II and NuMI DoE review ended well (B+?), strong-strong beam-beam simulations and studies strongly supported. 3. Mike Church summarized last weeks' ILC test facility meeting: the cases for 5GeV SC Linac and 5GeV Linac+5GeV DR in Tev tunnel (HERA-e-->TeV) are presented, long list of technology and physics challenges which can be answered at these facilities has been put together. Recommnedation will be sent to P.Oddone, S.Holmes and B.Kephart. 4. Eliana considered how would HERA-e magnets be used as ILC DR in the Tevatron tunnel and reported encouraging results: even simple FODO structure (252 cells) with six 60-m long straight sections for 1.6T wigglers can deliver small emittance (8 mm mrad rms norm) and needed damping time (40 ms). Next steps: consider other than FODO lattices (HERA-e has only ~200 cells) like TBD or TME, consider field quility issues (e.g. beam studies with 5GeV beams at DESY). See beams-doc-2214. 5. Sasha Valishev reported first results of the ILC Main Linac emittance simulations: curvature of the linac (it will follow Earth) is not a serious concern. Quadrupole settings in the cryostat (expected rms misalignement of 300 um) will lead to factor of 10,000(!) vertical emittance growth (while only 50% allowed), use of "1-to-1" correction algorithm with 1um BPM accuracy will reduce the blowup to factor of 5 (100 nm vert emm), "Dispersion free" algorithm can further reduce it to ~100%. THings to address/consider : a) code improvements; b) coupling errors; c) possibility of using "round-to-flat" beam adaptors (then emittances in main linac will be about equal). 6. Vahid presented beam-beam simulation results for upcoming "1-on-1 bunch" experiment at RHIC (scheduled for march 29) where two bunches will be separated by S=4-10 sigma and lifetime and tunes will be measured. He predicts ~1 hr lifetime with quadratic dependence on S at the 0.68 working point. Next steps include simulations at another WP (~0.72) and at injection energy.
