Marc Ross presented the scope of work needed for the ILC EDR: that's gonna be a more detail and thought thru document than RDR; will take some 3 years to finish, an EDR organization is being pulled by Marc; focus on high cost/high risk items (Civil, construction, SC RF); at the end the cost error should be reduced from ~30% to <10%; accelerator physicists will oversight/be involved in EDR where Fermilab has strength: civil, cryomodule design, cryo, magnets, controls, instrumentation. 2. Vladimir talked about organization of the Accelerator Physics Center (APC) - it will start June 1, 2007 with a number of Departments and Groups in it; he also urged people to communicate their ideas/suggestions/concerns to FNAL Steering Group members - see beams-doc-2763. 3. Group reports: a) Yuri - encouraging results on beam-beam compensation with TEL-1; Eliana fixed decoupling application that helped to fix losses at 150 GeV; L.Vorobiev has successfully installed the latest ORBIT code to simulate RR and MI; Yuri worked on ionization cooling channels; b) Nikolai - ED work on MI collimation system is ~done; work in progress on ILC and ILCTA, MERIT, LARP IRUP and 400 MeV p to muon conversion; c) Bob - 325 MHz klystron is fully commissioned in MDB at 1 Hz, 3.5 ms 2.5 MHz pulses; Dave W. will start testing his phase shifters; FY08 HINS budget is being discussed among all the labs (BNL does laser profiler, LBL - ecloud); Dave W has tested MI barrier bucket; d) Mike - Jim Volk calculated ATL coefficient from MINOS ground motion data; CHEF is being used for curved ILC linac simulations; Tan works on cleaning the NML dark current by a kicker; Philipp Piot estimated CSR effects in NML. 4. John Johnstone was asked to look into how one particular fix of the LHC IR quad support could affect LHC lattice - the fix assumed possibilities of +- 3 mm random longitudnal motion of the quads after a quench. John estimated that combined effect of all IRs can be as big as 13% of beta-wave and 0.006 of the tune change - see beams-doc-2759.
