Minutes/Action items of "Instrumentation-Systems-SDA" monthly meeting August 1, 2007 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Present: D. Capista, M. Convery, P. Derewnt, C. Gattuso, M. Hu, R. Moore, V. Papadimitriou, J. Patrick, B. Pellico, L. Prost, S. Pruss, D. Slimmer, R. Thurman-Keup, A. Tollestrup, J. Zagel We discussed the following: -------------------------- 1) Recycler DCCT status Jim Crisp 2) Flying Wire Status and IPM status at MI Jim Zaggel 3) Performance of the SBD, Synchlite and BLM systems and progress on extending the TeV algorithm for MI longitudinal emittances Randy Thurman-Keup 4) Instrumentation list for the shutdown Jim Zagel ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Conclusions-Action Items: 1) Install, test and calibrate new Recycler DCCTs. 2) Flying Wires/IPMs: a) We are looking forward to see the FW RFT problem (occasional loss of phase lock) fully addressed during the shutdown. In addition, there are no spare RFT's and it is a high priority to make more spares. We expect to hear about progress on this item at our next meeting. b) The FW data flip in pass 1/pass 2 has been identified and corrected. c) Some more time/data is needed to study and understand better the discrepancy in position between the FW and IPM data in MI. Shall we inlcude IPM data into SDA? 3) TcPort failure which impacts SyncLite and Tev/MI SBDs will be added to an OAC that creates alarms for LabView devices. 4) A silicone coating spray, previously used by TeV QPMs, might help with the humidity problems in some of the MI BLMs. 5) The plan is still to have available and validated an improved Main Injector longitudinal emittance algorithm by the end of the coming long summer shutdown. Randy is in contact with Alvin and Bob for this. We agreed to not have the new algorithm implemented for the ramp for the time being. That woudl introduce additional complications. -We will still start up with the old algorithm so that we have a benchmark, but we will continue with the new one shortly after. Our next meeting is scheduled for October 3, 2007.
