Minutes of the 28 Sep 2007 Tevatron Dept Meeting http://indico.fnal.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=1284 * News (Ron) - The lab, CDF and D0 all requested the visiting P5 committee for an additional year of running the Tevatron (through FY 2010). * Shutdown Status (Jim Volk + others) - Cryo vacuum leaks were fixed in E1 by repairing the E12-3 dipole and replacing the E12-1 spool. Electrical faults (from thermal cycle?) necessitated replacement of the E19 spool and the E19-2 dipole. Several outside air leaks were repaired in the A1 house - the A15 feedcan in particular. Replacing a CVI port on the D35 spool fixed a leak there. The C0 bake is complete; techs are investigating a beamtube leak in the upstream half. The B0 low-quads were aligned this week. * Startup Discussion (many) - A new idea for the new squeeze and collision helix is being developed. Changing the vertical polarity of the injection helix (and the short arc collision helix) would allow us to initiate collisions as before with separator 2-bumps at CDF and D0. More details will be presented next week after additional modelling is done.
