Minutes of the May 29, 2009 Tevatron Dept Meeting http://indico.fnal.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=2598 * Weekly Operations Summary (C-Y Tan) - The Tevatron delivered 55 pb^-1 to the experiments over the past 7 days. There have been 9 HEP stores with initial luminosities between 198 and 326 ub^-1/s. Only 1 store was terminated unintentionally - store 7091 ended after 2.5 hours when a failed abort link repeater caused a spurious abort. We had another lost shot during the squeeze; a set of tripped sextupole magnets may have been a contributing factor. There is a dynamic aperture problem late in the squeeze that contributes to proton loss; the coupling around D0 is rather sensitive to the beam angle through the IP, so we have been adjusting the orbit to a better tracjectory. After a reboot, the 1.7 GHz VSAs were found to have an incorrect center frequency setting that caused problems with the tune measurements. The D0 low-beta QPMs had a problematic card replaced. * BBQ Status (Chip Edstrom) - The application can now handle 2 VSAs, so once a VSA returns from repair we'll have simultaneous proton and pbar tune measurements. The BBQ parameters are available on pages T55 . Chip added acl script calls into the sequencer to configure the BBQ automatically for injection, ramp, squeeze, etc. All seems to be working well. Future possibilities include bunch-by-bunch gating and remote control of BBQ front-end gains and filter settings. * Plan for Next Week - Only 2 weeks until the long shutdown... - Deliver luminosity - Lattice measurements for documentation (Alex et al., proton-only) - Chromaticity Tracker (Tan, proton-only) - Pinger test/coupling on ramp (Eliana, proton-only) - Pbar-only store (if pbars available, but not protons day before shutdown)
