Minutes of the Oct 30, 2009 Tevatron Dept Meeting http://indico.fnal.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=2879 * Weekly Operations Summary (Andreas Jansson) - The Tevatron delivered > 56 pb^-1 over the past 7 days. There have been 10 HEP stores with initial luminosities between 130 and 280 ub^-1/s. Store 7296 ended with a quench @ A4 due to a bad card in the cryogenic controls system. Shot 7303 was lost early in the ramp due to a quench @ E4; the cause is not understood, but there was higher than desired beam loss there. After tuning RF station #1, the proton longitudinal blow-ups have been eliminated, but the pbars have had blow-ups, too; stations 6 and 7 need some adjustment. TEL-1 has been tripping on possibly flaky vacuum status; an ion pump power supply was replaced, but the interlock may need some investigation. Power lead connections at A2 were replated to reduce cryogenic heat load. Falling leaves have been clogging the pond strainer for the RF system; not many leaves left to fall. CDF has had some problems with their luminosity reading for several stores - sometimes > 5% high or low. The D0 IP was adjusted upon request, but we have had problems keeping it where they like due to motion of the low-beta quads. Separator scans showed we can increase CDF's lumi ~1%. Tuning on ramp and squeeze continue as usual. * Discussion on Next Week's Plan - Luminosity, luminosity, luminosity. - Adjustments on RF stations 6 & 7 (John Reid, day shifts) - Crystal Collimator Studies (Dean, end-of-store) - HEP Tune Mult Calibration (Ron, end-of-store) - Continued tuning for reduced losses
