Minutes of the Tevatron Dept Meeting 12 Dec 09 http://indico.fnal.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=2948 * Weekly Operations Summary (C-Y Tan) - The Tevatron delivered 48 pb^-1 to the experiments over the past 7 days. There have been 10 stores with initial luminosities between 220 and 290 ub^-1/s. Store 7423 (highest initial lumi since the summer shutdown) aborted after only 9 minutes when the A2 power supply LCW got too hot - a heat exchanger valve was not operating properly. Store 7427 aborted after only 4.5 hours when a faulty electrical breaker caused a power cut to the F1 cryo refrigerator building. Tune changes at collisions have been successful reducing beam blow-ups. BBQ tune measurements indicated the pbar tunes are close to 0.6 right after initiating collisions. We are still experiencing longtiudinal pbar instabilities - additional cavities have been recently adjusted. High beam halo at CDF has required careful tuning at the start of stores. The E48 pbar injection kicker needed a sulfur-hex refill. The vertical HEP tune mults were calibrated without any difficulty. * RF Cavity Tweaking (John Reid) - Postponed until next week since John was busy replacing a Main Injector cavity during an access. * Flying Wire Emittances during Reverse Injection (Jerry Annala) - The Tevatron and Main Injector flying wire emittances are now being logged correctly during the forward (MI->TEV) and reverse (TEV->MI) injections of the injection line tune-up. This should allow us to routinely measure the round-trip emittances during shot-setup. The SDA Reverse Injection case needs to be modified to this data into SDA correctly. Only uncoalesced protons have been measured this way, but it would be nice to get data with coalesced protons. * Plan for Next Week - Deliver luminosity. - Crystal collimator (Dean, end-of-store) - TEL e-beam alignment (Alex, Xiaolong, proton-only or EOS) - Feeddown orbit bump (Bruce, proton-only) - Bumper magnet (Bruce, Elmie, proton-only) - HEP Proton Tune Mult (Ron, end-of-store)
