Minutes of the July 9, 2010 Tevatron Dept Meeting http://indico.fnal.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=3477 * Weekly Operations Summary (Jerry Annala) - 9 HEP stores and a 3X3 store used for BBC studies that occurred during the week. The Luminosities of the HEP stores ranged from 230 to 328 E30 with a total integrated Luminosity for the week of 59.2 pb-1. All stores were ended intentionally and the biggest problem was increasing losses in the squeeze. There is some evidence that quads near D0 are rolling again, so a parse has been requested to tune up the squeeze before the weekend. * Recent TEL-2 studies results (Alex Valishev) - Two TEL studies were conducted this week. A lack of Pbars provided an opportunity to investigate Transverse Mode Coupling Instability (TMCI) that was possibly observed on Jan 29 during a 4X0 store. This time the study was conducted at 150 GeV using a collimator to protect the cryogenic magnets. The instability could be generated and the dependence of important parameters such as tune split, electron beam current and solenoid field were investigated. There was reasonable agreement with the theory found during this study. The study was determined to be safe, and quick to set up and conduct. Introducing coupling to the Tevatron stabilized the instability and this was not predicted by the theory. A 3X3 store was also conducted this week. The ultimate goal of Beam-Beam compensation was not achieved, but the tune scans did provide a good case for comparison to simulations. Also, there may be some evidence that there was a reduction in the resonance strengths of some of the resonance lines that were crossed. * Plan for Next Week - Maximize integrated luminosity - Parse the squeeze to reduce losses - EOS study to check abort gap cleaning of TEL-2 - Make sure that the separators are set for head on collisions - Collect any additional documentation needed before the shutdown.
