Minutes of the 22 Oct 2010 Tevatron Dept Meeting http://indico.fnal.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=3680 * Weekly Operations Summary (Bruce Hanna) - The Tevatron delivered 51.6 pb^-1 to the experiments over the past week. There have been 9 HEP stores with initial luminosities between 120 and 305 ub^-1/s. The very low luminosity store was a result of few pbars due to Recycler's electron cooling being off to repair a power supply. Two stores were ended unintentionally: store 8188 ended after 14.9 hours when the T:QDD1 supply tripped on a spurious quench indication and store 8194 ended after only 6.3 hours on a spurious CDF SVX abort when they were turning on silicon BLM high voltage following a repair. We had several problems this week: leaking solenoids on F0 beam valves, closed beam valves in A1 caused by a leaking compressor air dryer, continued leaks of SF6 from the antiproton injection kicker pulser, the QDD1 quench card problems. Periodic small jumps in the D-side low-beta quad tilts have been correlated with regulation of the LN2 circuits; it appears that adjusing the regulation can reduce that motion. The B17 and C17 separators were conditioned during some down time to help eliminate vacuum bursts observed while they run hard at flattop. There has been some transverse emittance growth of protons at flattop (before the squeeze) and pbars while initiating collisions. Large coupling appears to be the cause of the degrading pbar lifetime during stores; changes to the main skew quad currents have helped, but additional work is needed. We have eliminated a couple possible sources of the occasional Schottky power spikes, but more work is needed here, too. The D1 BPMs have been OK since an apparently flaky beam-sync cable was changed earlier this week. * Plan for Next Week (All) - Deliver luminosity. - TEL-2 (Alex, Giulio - 30 min EOS) - Crystal collimator (T-980 gang - 3 hr EOS) - Proton-only to investigate noise spikes (many) - D0 alpha-bumps (Jerry, Alex - proton-only)
