Minutes of the January 28, 2011 Tevatron Dept Meeting * Weekly Operations Summary (C-Y Tan): The Tevatron delivered 127 pb^-1 over the past 2 weeks. There were 20 HEP stores with initial luminosities between 176 and 350 ub^-1/s. Five stores were lost prematurely and one shot quenched during scraping. There have only been annoying problems, nothing serious. Single proton bunches have been blowing transversely during flattop or squeeze. Pbars continue to blow-up longitudinally soon after collisions. Commissioning and tweaking of a new pbar longitudinal damper continue, but it is not yet ready for operation. Small orbit adjustments have been made for using the E0 collimator during the squeeze; overall it has been a great success. Minor cryogenic vacuum maintenance has been done during short tunnel accesses. * March Shutdown Planning (Jim Volk): This shutdown, driven by ComEd for repair work on line feeding Kautz Road substation, will be March 7-10. Tasks being considered: magnet roll measurements, various tunnel maintenance, vacuum leak-checking, install new crystal collimator, install pixel detectors, other small jobs that can be completed within that time frame. * Plan for Next Week - Keep on delivering luminosity. - Crystal collimator (Dean et al., 3 hrs end-of-store) - Hollow e-beam (Alex & Giulio, parasitic during HEP) - Pbar longitudinal damper (Tan, proton-only) - Longitudinal shaking at flattop (Tan, proton-only) - Low Beta Quad tickling (Jerry, proton-only) - e-cloud (Xiaolong, 1 hr proton-only)
