Minutes of the April Fool's Day 2011 Tevatron Dept Meeting https://indico.fnal.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=4338 * Operations Summary (Xiaolong Zhang) - It's good to be back and running after warming up the D1 house to replace the D16-2 dipole that had developed an electrical fault on March 20. (The adjacent D16-1 spool package was also replaced.) There have been 4 HEP stores since the magnet replacement with initial luminosities between 212 and 329 ub^-1/s. Store 8603 was lost when a dipole corrector magnet power supply failed and caused a magnet quench. The first HEP shot attempt was lost upon acceleration after an RF station tripped off and generated lots of uncaptured beam that caused a quench. We have delivered 11 pb^-1 since the first store on March 30. We are gradually raising beam intensities as we tune up the machine. * Tevatron Accelerator Studies (Ron) - Ron gave an overview of the proposed plan to do ~2 weeks of acclerator studies before the Tevatron shuts down. The main topics are (ongoing) testing bent crystal and hollow electron beam collimation and various beam-beam effect measurements. Some studies can be done during end-of-store studies, while other require occasional blocks of dedicated time. FNAL, BNL, and CERN folks are collaborating on these studies. * Discussion on Next Week's Plan (All) - Get back to normal HEP operation. - Separator scans (middle to end of store) - Commission longitudinal pbar damper (Tan et al., proton-only) - Tune Mult Calibration (Ron, 1-2 hr end-of-store) - Crystal collimator (Dean et al., end-of-store) - Hollow e-beam (Alex, Giulio, end-of-store) - Electron cloud (Xiaolong, proton-only) - Bunch Length Manipulation (Ron, end-of-store)
