This document defines a plan, based on the (2010) Proton Task Force report, for the improvement and upgrade of the Proton Source. The specific objectives are to enable Linac/Booster operation capable of delivering 1.8E17 protons/hour (at 12 Hz) by May 1, 2013 and 2.25E17 protons/hour (at 15 Hz) by January 1, 2016 while maintaining Linac/Booster availability >85%, maintaining residual activation at acceptable levels, and ensuring a useful operating life through 2025. It outlines a schedule for the work and cost and manpower estimates for each task. The plan takes the Laboratory’s physics program into account and accommodates as much of the proposed program as possible.
The only difference between The Plan v7 and The Plan v8 is correction of an intermediate value in Appendix 2 'total cost' column, 55,943.8 changed to 32,318.8. The bottom line of that column, calculated from bottom line row values, remains unchanged. Also very minor formatting changes to document.
