Abstract:
IPM data shows that the half-integer correction circuits that apparently improve early efficiency of high-intensity Booster operation also minimize early vertical emittance. Once scraping effects in the horizontal plane are properly accounted for, the improvement in vertical emittance seems to persist for the entire cycle. This is good evidence that the half-integer compensation is working. The resulting loss-profile is suboptimal, however - In order to operationalize the improvement in efficiency/emittance, we need to tune up the loss profile with orbit bumps.
