Notes from Main Injector/Recycler Group Meeting Monday 9 December 2002 Bruce C. Brown [Scribe was late for meeting so note are incomplete.] Cons Gattuso Studies and Operations Progress Horizontal apertures scans are complete. Some corrector channels need additional voltage to provide the current range which the magnets can support. At present some correctors cannot be driven above about 5.5 A or so, limiting the range of the scans involved. Studiers have improved their habits and Page D1 saves have been taken at the end of shifts. The problem with events for $26 (MI Rampdown) appearing in the ramp tables of some RR correctors has been examined. It is associated with a switch setting in the 453 ramp card setup which needed (needs?) to be checked out for the more recently installed RR corrector cards. It may be that only one 453 was in that mode. Dave Capista notes that the alarms page is set up so that each corrector in the Main Injector will create an alarm if that bit is not enabled and the inverse check and alarm could be created for each Recycler corrector channel. Announcements/Discussion The systems for corrector programming to change the RR energy (momentum) with the dipole correctors is now complete and checked out. Software is complete but implementation is not final. PBar transfers will replace proton studies as the regular activity beginning next Monday, December 16.
