From: owner-pd-meson-planning@listserv.fnal.gov on behalf of Bob Webber [webber@fnal.gov] Sent: Monday, February 12, 2007 1:53 PM To: PD-Meson-planning@fnal.gov Subject: Minutes of February 8, 2007 HINS Meson meeting Minutes of February 8, 2007 HINS Meson meeting Planned agenda: Agenda: 1) Update from Peter Prieto before he disappears next week 2) Update on modulator status, computer status, interlock checkout, switch change-out - Chris 3) Update on klystron heater controls and interlock status - Chris and Dave McD 4) Update on 3" transmission line layout to cave - Bob Gloor 5) AOB Reports Peter Prieto - Peter will be gone Feb.13 through March 3. Peter's system has had forward and reflected power trips checked and PMT trips checked. It is still missing fiber arc detector components. They are on order and John Seraphin will handle in Peter's absence. Dennis Nicklaus - Will be gone week of Feb. 19th. He has epics timer control widget now configured to properly handle MSB of timer width control and has included timer reference event feature. These yet need to be checked for proper functionality. Frequency tracking feedback loop software work will not begin until after Dennis' return. Dave McDowell - Has black/red heat filament sequencing operating on resistive load. Has hooked up PLC interlock summation signal to modulator. Still has trip limit questions. Bob requested that Dave and Al Moretti establish these values by end of tomorrow, Feb. 9. Still needs to follow up with Geoff Savage on scaling of various EPICS parameters from PLC. Maurice Ball - Installation of copper air line to klystron has begun. Has flow meter, needs regulator and pressure interlock switches yet. There already is an air line from same supply in the cavity test cave. Discussion on quality of compressed air. Maurice described dryer and filter presently on the system; it appeared adequate for our needs. Has for now installed ball valve in klystron collector water circuit to provide sufficient pressue drop for the differential pressure interlocks to function. Valve will be replaced by fixed flow restrictor when available between differential pressure (DP) sense points. Griswold flow regulator will be included in the collector water circuit, but outside the DP sensors. Griswold flow regulators will be installed in all critical water circuits. Bob Gloor - Showed dwg of 3" RF transmission line layout to and inside cavity test cave, including dimensions/details of each 3" line section. Al Moretti needs to check this dwg. Also Al requested that the compressed air components for pressurizing the 3" lines be included on the dwg. Jim Steimel - Initiated request for two new relay racks to be installed along east wall outside cavity test cave. Reminded Maurice of request to determine whether existing water skid (with additional pump that Maurice intends to install) has sufficient capacity to handle RFQ and ion source in addition to existing known loads. Leon Beverly - Will see that racks per Steimel's request get installed. Will get telephone installed at table with computer next to klystron.
