Minutes/Action items of "Instrumentation-Systems-SDA" monthly meeting June 20, 2007 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Present: T. Bolshakov, D. Capista, S. Chaurize, B. Drendel, C. Gattuso, I. Kourbanis, V. Lebedev, D. Newhart, V. Papadimitriou, J. Patrick, S. Pruss, D. Slimmer, T. Sullivan, R. Thurman-Keup, J. Zagel We discussed the following: -------------------------- 1) Booster Emittances Duane Voy/Bill Pellico 2) Flying Wire status Jim Zagel 3) Performance of the SBD, Synch Lite and BLM systems and expectations for the completion of the new MI longitudinal emittance algorithm Randy Thurman-Keup ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Conclusions-Action Items: 1) Booster Emittances: a) Jim Zagel will discuss more with Booster people the possibility of taking IPM data for more Booster cycles or a specific cycle in a sequence. This will probably require changes in ACNET buffer sizes and/or Front End programming. b) The possibility of installing in the Booster a higher clearing field IPM is being pursued. A request has been made as well for an IPM at the Linac 400 MeV line. 2) Flying Wires: a) During a recent access at MI the 90% attenuation filter for the FW Vertical Proton loss monitor was repaired. b) A plan is being discussed to address the loss of the RFT phase lock for the Main Injector FW system, although this problem has no reappeared recently. In addition, there are no spare RFT's and it is a high priority to make more spares. Time scale for this is still being determined. 3) SBD/SyncLite/BLMs: a) None of the occasional TCPort problems related with TeV SBD and SL systems appeared recently. b) Noise issues and humidity affecting some MI BLM boards are under investigation. c) Noise issues are under investigation as well for the TeV BLM. (A1 is cabled up). 4) The plan is still to have available and validated an improved Main Injector longitudinal emittance algorithm by the end of the coming long summer shutdown. -We will still start up with the old algorithm so that we have a benchmark, but we will continue with the new one shortly after.
