Minutes of the June 27 Tevatron Dept Meeting http://indico.fnal.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=1920 * Weekly Operatiions Report (Andreas Jansson) Covering previous two weeks - Over the past two weeks, there have been 16 stores that have successfully reached HEP with initial luminoisities between 212 and 318 cm-1 sec-1. 13 stores were ended intentionally with one store still colliding. 4 stores had an initial Luminosity above 300. One store was lost when a ground fault appeared on the safety system, and one store was lost with a spurious abort from the C3 vacuum system. There were two quenches at E48 after openning the helix when an instability developed. There were a variety of small issues requiring attention, and some bigger issues that include the Low Beta QPM boot code not being correct, and the stability problems on the helix mentioned above. There were also issues transitioning to the new BLM systems at many houses. * Chromaticity Tracker report (CY Tan) - The horizontal chromaticity tracker is functioning well under shot setup conditions. At 150 GeV, and uncoalesced beam, the system was turned on with the same setup used on April 1 and worked well at chromaticities under 10 units. The system does not work as well with coalesced beam, and does not work with the octupoles off. Hardware is being built to replicate the system for the vertical plane. Also, some OAC code will be written to make this a completely Acnet sequencer friendly system. * Plan for next week includes: 1) Measuring the tune, chromaticity and coupling drifts at injection. 2) Implementing the chromaticity tracker in operations. 3) Beam commissioning of the bumper magnet as an abort gap cleaner. 4) Timing in the Vertical pinger with beam. 5) Tuning the higher order elements in the open helix ramp. 6) Investigating the stability region if the open helix ramp is unchanged. No beam activities will include: BLM abort limit tuning. 460 firmware propagation.
