Minutes of the Dec 18, 2009 Tevatron Dept Meeting http://indico.fnal.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=2959 * Weekly Operations Summary (C-Y Tan) - The Tevatron delivered 44 pb^-1 to CDF and D0 over the past 7 days. There were 7 stores with initial luminosities between 124 and 274 ub^-1/s; all were terminated intentionally. Due to a very lenghty Main Injector access, store 7433 was kept for just over 50 hours. Proton intensities have been lower due to a weak H- source in the pre-acc. RF station 5 had problems during 2 stores, causing occasional jumps in bunch lengths and spikes in abort gap losses. Longitudinal pbar blow-ups continue, but at a lower rate. CDF luminosity was increased by ~1% after vertical separator scan and adjustment. There were also TEL-2 electron beam alignment studies. * RF Cavity Tweaking (John Reid) - John summarized recent work moving around adjusting cavities' fundamental frequency and 311 MHz harmonics. (Cavities 1, 6, 7 have a 311 MHz line very close in frequency.) It's not clear adjusting the 311 MHz has any direct benefit on the pbar blow-ups. They can revive construction of a 311 MHz hardware damper, but he would like to pursue dynamic impedance changes as implemented in Main Injector cavities. He will also configure a spectrum analyzer on a resistive wall monitor output such that we can watch (and capture) it in real time on a cable TV channel. * Plan for Next Week (and the week after that!) - Smooth operations through Christmas and New Year holidays! - Crystal Collimator (Dean, EOS) - TEL-2 e-beam alignment (Alex et al., EOS) - Orbit bumps at feeddowns (Ron et al., EOS) - Bumper magnet as abort gap cleaner (Elmie et al., proton-only) * Next meeting is January 8, 2010! Happy Holidays and Safe Travels!
