Minutes of the Jan 8, 2010 Tevatron Dept Meeting http://indico.fnal.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=2991 * News (Ron) - The Tevatron Accelerator Studies Workshop is next week Wed-Thurs Jan 13-14. * Weekly Operations Summary (Xiaolong Zhang) - Quickly summarizing the past 3 weeks over the Christmas/New Year holidays...a very productive period with 169 pb^-1 delivered to the experiments. Only 1 store (abort kicker prefire) of 25 lost prematurely, and 2 shots were lost before reaching HEP (one quench caused by tunes landing low at collisions, the other aborted by D0 when the QC42 tune quad tripped off and results in high losses). One week had a record 151.25 hours of HEP. There were a number of store back above 300 ub^-1/s initial luminosity. Pbar longitudinal blow-ups have been reduced, but not clear why. Dean is working on improving the automatic orbit smoothing to fix the orbits around the D0 straight section. The list of needed vacuum maintenance in the tunnel is growing. * Plan for Next Week - Deliver luminosity safely. - 3-bumps @ S4 feeddowns (Ron, 1 hr end-of-store) - T-980 Crystal Collimator (Dean, 2-3 hrs end-of-store) - Bumper magnet as abort gap cleaner (Elmie, 4 hr proton-only) - Digital Tune Monitor (Alex, during/end store) - TEL-2 abort gap cleaning (Xiaolong, Alex, 1 hr end-of-store)
