Minutes of the 13 Aug 2010 Tevatron Dept Meeting http://indico.fnal.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=3539 * Shutdown Progress (Jim Volk) - Most of the Tevatron shutdown work is complete, although D4 was warmed up to repair a recently developed leak or two. The rest of the Tevatron is already cold or nearly so. All magnets with rolls > 1 mrad were unrolled, plus a number with rolls between 0.5-1.0 mrad (total ~80). The rest of the Tevatron is already cold or nearly so. Other notable work includes: plenty of maintenance, replacing stands on the D23 and E27 quads (and alignment), leveling spool package at A46 and A47, as-founds of the B0, D0, F0 sections (no changes made), install new crystals in vertical crystal collimator goniometer, repair 2 flying wire units, replace electron gun in TEL-2. * Startup Thoughts (Dean Still) - A low-pot of the ring showed nothing unexpected. Assuming D4 repairs and cool-down proceed smoothly, we are planning for start-up with beam on Thursday. Separator conditioning will occur during nights when no one is working in the tunnel. Several shifts will be needed for the usual start-up tasks: orbit smoothing (many magnets unrolled), corrections to feeddown circuits on ramp and squeeze, recommission abort kickers, electron lens, dampers, PBJ, collimators, instrumentation. * Plans for Next Week - Get the machine back up and ready for delivering luminosity!
