Minutes of the March 18, 2011 Tevatron Dept Meeting https://indico.fnal.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=4231 * Records Management (Debbie/Traci/Rebecca) - There will be an internal assessment of progress implementing our records management policy. They are available to help us categorize our records to assign the appropiate retention schedule. * Weekly Operations Summary (Bruce Hanna) - Since returning to operations after last week's shutdown, the Tevatron has delivered 52 pb^-1 to CDF and D0. There have been 9 HEP stores with initial luminosities between 155 and 367 ub^-1/s. Only the first store was lost prematurely due to a quench at pbar collimator locations; it is clear the beam must moved toward those collimators, but no definite cause has been found. Start-up was complicated by problems with the C4 BPMs; a cable swap after board replacement was eventually fixed. The D1 cryo cold compressor (installed last week) can not achieve the desired 2-phase pressure; vacuum readings in the tunnel seem OK, so investigation continue. Not surprisingly, one of the pbar abort kickers that had extensive maintenance pre-fired during a tune-up store. ES&H and the fire department contained an oil leak from a cryo compressor. RF experts reduced the 311 MHz harmonic in TRF1 which has eliminated one signature of a proton instability. Longitudinal pbar instabilities continue, but we are waiting for study time to commission the pbar longitudinal damper. Other instrumentation maintenance and tune-ups have been completed. * Discussion on Next Week's Plans - Deliver luminosity. - Work on records management. - HEP Tune Mult Calibration (Ron, EOS) - Pbar Longitudinal Damper (Tan, proton-only) - Hollow e-beam (Giulio and Alex, EOS) - Lumi vs Bunch Length (Ron, EOS) - eCloud (Xiaolong, proton-only)
