Minutes of meeting held on 11 Jul 2019 ========================= (i) Curtis presented the 3D drawings of the BTL (1) The new injection point in Booster means that the "hook" will move ~6 m SE w.r.t. the baseline. (2) The distance between the last magnet outside the Bosoter to the first magnet inside Booster is about 10 m. This distance is determined by the required 5ft clearance from the existing wall of Booster for sheet piling. (a) The "chute" will consist of an outer pipe that is between 4" to 6" in diameter with an enclosed beam pipe of 2". The size of the outer pipe is subject to change. (b) Denton says that the support for the beampipe will be on the ends of the chute. The support structure should not be a problem (c) Tan also asked whether the clearance for the last quads from the wall would be a problem. Denton did not think that this would be a problem. (3) Steve and Meiqin says that Bruce Hanna had a concern about the magnetization of the piling wall because of the close proximity to the quads. (a) Tan says that the pipe can be wrapped with muMetal if necessary. This concern will be looked at later. (4) The MI crossing point has 80" clearance. Compared to 76" required for the magnet mover. Therefore, there is enough clearance. (a) It is required that the BTL floor be ~4" higher than present survey. This is the solution that allows the clearance for the magnet mover. (b) Tan says that once the supports and the size of the magnet is finalized, the floor elevation will need to be tweaked as well. (c) Curtis did a calculation to show that by elevating the BTL floor by ~4", the match to the existing Tev tunnel floor is within 0.1". (5) Curtis also showed the survey points that he'd like to be done during the shutdown. (a) Tan will send the info to O'Sheg. (ii) Meiqin presented her lattice that matches the civil construction presented by Curtis. (1) The lattice looks good and has been designed to match Dave's Booster lattice at the injection point. (2) The dispersion is small and is not zero. (a) Eduard would like to look at the lattice more closely. Summary ====== The latest iteration of the lattice and civil construction is well coordinated. A solution for inserting PIPII linac into Booster has been found both in the lattice and civil construction. The civil construction is now a lot less destructive than the original proposal.
